Guillermina Lira Ruiz

Surrounded by her loving family, Guillermina Lira Ruiz passed peacefully from this life on July 12, 2020 at her home in San Benito, Texas.  Guillermina was born to Pedro Lira and Macedonia Jara Lira on February 10, 1925 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico.

Guillermina was a professional seamstress and worked at Levi-Strauss & Co. for many years.  She then became a private caregiver caring for the ill.  Being very hardworking, her ongoing side jobs were in sales, particularly, Avon.  She was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St Theresa Catholic Church where she loved going to pray for everyone.  She had her daughters attend Sunday mass and attend St. Theresa School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Sierra Ruiz, a granddaughter, Angelica Reyna, her parents and all her siblings.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughters, Sylvia (Mack Gonzalez) Ruiz, Mary Lou (Joe) Reyna, Maggie (Roland) Cornejo; her grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle, Benjamin, Marissa, Christian Jose Reyna, Rolando Cornejo Jr., Amanda Cornejo, Vanessa Saenz; and her great-grandchildren, Naiya, Naomi, Hailey, Cameron, Kade and Draven.  She is also survived by the Lira and Ruiz families.

Very special thanks to Carmen, Zenaida, Marta, and Maria, who loved and took such good care of her.  Thanks also to Santitos (Comadre), Vicky, Jackie, the rest of the Reyna family and her longtime friends Marta and Margarita Moreno, for loving and caring for her.  She was truly blessed.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joe Reyna, Christian Reyna, Rolando Cornejo, and Mack Gonzales.
