On January 19, 2022, Guadalupe Guzman, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born February 26, 1937 to the late Isidro Garza and Carolina Torres.
Guadalupe gave her life to Jesus fifty-six years ago, and it was her desire that all her children and family serve the Lord. She instilled the values of family, hard work, and faith in Christ to all her loved ones. She had a love for gardening, enjoyed sewing, and spending time with her family. Even in the last few difficult months, she found ways to be active and independent. Her strong character was ever present to the end, needing to “work and help” with daily housework.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by her parents, Isidro and Carolina; her sisters, Dominga, Paula, and Amelia; and her niece, Leonor.
Left to treasure Guadalupe’s memory is her loving husband of 64 years, Eduardo Guzman; children, Rosa (David) Salazar, Hazael Guzman, Cesar (Rosie) Guzman, David (Dora Alicia) Guzman, Daniel (Dalia) Guzman, Edward (Alma) Guzman, and Nereida (Matthew) Stolp. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Guadalupe’s family wishes to thank the Kindred Hospice staff for the care they provided the past nine months and Rosie Hernandez for providing such compassionate care during her last few months.
The Guzman family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.
