Guadalupe R. Cerda

San Benito, TX: Guadalupe R. Cerda, 84 of San Benito passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Harlingen Medical Center.
He was employed and retired with CP&L (AEP) after 41 ½ years; he was also a member of VFW Post 2410 and American Legion Post 205; he was a US Navy Veteran and served on the USS Texas Battleship during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Juanita R. Cerda; his brother, Jose Cerda; his sisters, Juanita, Paulita, Ester and Maria.
Guadalupe is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Ofelia Cerda; his daughters, Anna Belia (Daniel) Camarillo of Seagoville, TX; Criselda (Matthew) Sanchez of Victoria, TX; and Dalia (Albert) Escobedo of Forney, TX; his grandchildren, Esteban Martinez, Laura Ann Escobedo, Dylan Sanchez, DJ Camarillo, Albert Escobedo, Jr., Jacob Sanchez, and Luke Sanchez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitations will be held on Monday, May 30, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Iglesia Presbiteriana Getsemani located at 140 Diaz St in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Sanchez, Albert Escobedo, Daniel Camarillo, Esteban Martinez, Ramiro Guajardo, Gilbert De La Fuente, DJ Camarillo and Beto Flores; honorary pallbearers will be AEP Golden Kilowatt Retirees.
