Grundy W. Blevins, 70, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
Grundy was born January 9, 1940 in Keller, Texas to A.D. and Neta P. Blevins. He was employed by U.S.A.A. of San Antonio, Texas and retired in December 1999. Grundy was a member of First Baptist Church of Harlingen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Neta P. Blevins and his siblings, Alfred Blevins, Robert Blevins, Eula Wadsworth and Doretha Lipe.
Grundy is survived by his wife, Vera Blevins; children, Greg Blevins and wife, Julia of Midlothian, TX, Jacquelyn Wright and husband, Chris of Harlingen, TX, Geff Blevins and wife, Margie of Schulenburg, TX and Michael Cantu and wife, Patty of Harlingen, TX; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A celebration of Grundy’s life will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010, 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Harlingen with Rev. Wade Hood and Rev. Chris Hall officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Choir Department, 501 E. Van Buren, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
