San Benito, TX - Gregorio G. "Goyo" Hernandez, Sr, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Goyo was preceded in death by his parents Jacinto & Romana Hernandez, his brothers Mario & Rey Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Rosario (Chaya) Hernandez, Daughters, Alma D. Hernandez, Blanca Guzman (Henry), son, Gregorio Hernandez, Jr. (Imelda), daughter, Amanda Hernandez Herrera. Also survived by grandchildren Christopher R. Guzman, Elaine M. Hernandez, Victoria L. Hernandez, Mariana A. Mansfield, Elias E. Gonzalez, Gregorio Hernandez III, JC Hernandez, Enrique Gavino Guzman, Kristian A. Guzman, and Joseph A. Herrera. Great- grandsons, Alberto Gonzalez II & Anthony M. Gonzalez. Also survived brothers and sisters, Irma Lopez, Antonio Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Roel Hernandez, Rick Gomez, Linda (Rene) Claudio, Santa (Joe) Tolento, and Eduardo Hernandez. Numerous nieces and nephews will dearly miss their Tio Goyo.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m., on Friday, June 27, 2014 at San Benito Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Christopher R. Guzman, Elaine M. Hernandez, Victoria L. Hernandez, Elias E. Gonzalez, Gregorio Hernandez III, JC Hernandez, Enrique Gavino Guzman, Kristian A. Guzman, Joseph A. Herrera, Alberto Gonzalez II.
