Grace Lee Fritz passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007. She was born on August 25, 1931 to Clifford and Mildred Strickland in Tennessee.
Grace married Donald Fritz, and they made their home in Harlingen with their son, Donald Gene.
Her parents, her husband, her son, and a brother, LC Strickland, preceded Grace in death.
Two grandchildren survive Grace: Don of Fresno, CA and Sharon of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her brothers James Strickland of Kerrville, Carl Strickland of Corpus Christi, and Dewey Strickland of San Benito. Also surviving Grace are two sisters, Ethel Thomas of Harlingen and Dorothy Bradford of Huntsville, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen. Graveside services only will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m., at Mont Meta Memorial Park with Rev. Judy Sessions of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church officiating.
Pallbearers will be James Strickland, Carl Strickland, Dewey Strickland, Michael Bradford, Steve Bradford, and Clifton Bradford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Grace was strong in her religion and fully believed in one of her favorite verses: Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14.
