Rio Hondo, TX- Gilberto G. Garza, 76, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
He enjoyed hunting and farming and playing the lottery.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elva Garza; his father, Anastacio Garza, Sr.; his mother, Maria R. Garza; and his brothers, Roberto Garza and Anastacio R. Garza, Jr.
Gilberto is survived by his children, Xavier (Suzie) Garza and Martha (Mike) Jaramillo; his 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and his brother and sister, Ernestina Guerrero and Ernesto Garza.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Las Yescas Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Anastacio “Tiger” Garza III, Alan R. Garza, David Z. Vasquez, Murl Kimmerling, Rolando Villa, and Ricky Quintanilla.
