Gertudes "Tula" L. Sanchez
November 15, 1922 — August 18, 2013
Gertrudes “Tula” L. Sanchez, 90, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in San Benito, Texas and she worked with San Benito School District for 25 years in the cafeteria. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the St. Theresa Church in San Benito, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Eduardo and Refugia Loza, her daughter; Gertrudes Sanchez, her brother; Eduardo Loza, Jr., her grandsons; Michael Sanchez, Aaron Cruz, Matthew Sanchez, her in-laws; Rene Ramirez, Sr., Mary Sanchez, and Martin Barrola.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years of marriage, Manuel Sanchez Sr., her children; Maria Luisa Burrola, Manuel Sanchez Jr., Bertha Ramirez, Carmen (Angel) Ramirez, George (Sally) Sanchez, Rosie (Juan) Zapata, Arnold (Diane) Sanchez, 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013 and Wednesday, August 21, 2013 with a rosary at 7 p.m.at San Benito Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 22, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will Manuel Sanchez Jr., Arnold Sanchez, Eddie Sanchez, Ruben Ramirez, David Ramirez, Ray Sanchez, Benjamin Zapata and Arnold Sanchez, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Manuel Sanchez III, Samuel Sanchez, Danny Ramirez, Danny Gonzalez, Rene Ramirez Jr., and George Sanchez.
