Georgia Mae (Hicks) Stepp, 95, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 in Harlingen, Texas. Georgia was born on November 2, 1919 in Fannin County, Texas. After graduating from Whitewright High School, she moved to Dallas, attended Draughon’s Business College, and began a long working career. After retiring in 1989, Georgia spent time caring for her yard and raising flowers. She also served as a volunteer in the library of Lakeside Baptist Church Dallas for 12 years. In 2005, Georgia move to Harlingen to be closer to daughter and son-in-law.
She was preceded in death by Henry G Stepp; grandson, Glenn Austin Johnston, and brothers, Joe D Hicks & Russell Hicks.
She is survived by daughter, Barbara Johnston and husband Robert of Harlingen; nephews, Russell Hicks of Dallas, Randall Hicks and wife Norie of McKinney; grandnephews Brandon Hicks and wife Rose, Dewey Hicks; grandnieces Rachel Hicks and Malin Hicks.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Ruby and Paul Navarette for their loving personal care of Georgia the last two years.
Graveside Services will be held April 2, 2015, 10:30 A.M., at Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas, Larry NeGron, Senior Minister of Lakeside Baptist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glenn Austin Johnston Film & Digital Media Endowed Scholarship Fund, Baylor University, Waco, Texas.
