George F. Short

George F. Short entered Heaven's gates at around 10:00 p.m. on December 12th, 2021. He was 81 years old.

George Short is loved by many of you who knew him. George was always doing what he could to help anyone who was in need. He often helped many people without telling anyone. He was a gentle, kind man of God.

Over the years of His life, George was greatly involved in many churches in his community. He was the founder of many youth groups, children’s ministries, outreach teams and prayer groups. He was instrumental in the building of his local community and was very generous.

George was also known for his great sense of humor. He had a joke to tell for every situation and always brightened up the atmosphere around him. When you spoke with George, he was never without a story to tell. He had many great and interesting adventures throughout his lifetime, many of which are written in his book, “The Bold Alaska Calls”.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Cindy Mechtel; sister, Freva Nell Short Dossman; and his nieces and nephews

George will be greatly missed, but we know that he is dancing on the Streets of Gold and enjoying his mansion.
