Fred Buscaglia of Laguna Vista, Texas, on September 17, 2016, at the age of 86, lost his life to a battle with Cancer.

University of Buffalo graduate 1952 B.A. (Psychology), 1954 M.S.W. (Psychiatric Social Worker) 1954. New York Certified Social Worker. U.S. Army, 1955 – 1957, Psychiatric Social Worker Officer, Ft. Campbell Kentucky, Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas. Buffalo General Hospital (Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic), Psychiatric Social Worker, 1957. Childers’s Aid & S.P.C.C.; Child Psychiatric Worker, 1958-59. N.Y. State Dept. of Social Services Area Director, (last position held), 1959-72. Erie County Dept. of Social Services, Commissioner, last 11 years, 1972-87. Retired January 1, 1988. Past President N.Y. Public Welfare Assoc., United Way Committees, Board Member Erie County Partnership. Fred held residences in Buffalo, New York, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, South Parde Island & Laguna Vista, Texas. Fred enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, fishing, New York, Yankees, Buffalo Bills, reading, driving his XLR and the many friends he shared his passions with.
Survived two siblings, Mary Grace Landsberg, Concetta (Connie) Green, and five children, Catherine, M.L. (Hodge), John, Deb (Stark/Fontaine), Emily (Rallo), six Grandchildren, Carly (Hodge/Will), Alexis (Hodge/Radel), John James, Luisa (Buscaglia/Murrell), Alex (Rallo), Nicolas (Rallo), nine Great Grandchildren, Connor, Jacob, Ryan, Collin, (Will), Chanel, Dallas, Liberty, (Radel), Joshua James, Payton Jaymes (Murrell), and one daughter-in-law, Celina, four sons-in-law, Michael (Hodge, deceased), Floyd “Michael” (Stark deceased), Dean (Rallo), Raul (Fontaine). Thank you Rob Green (nephew), for keeping him thinking, you’re a great cousin.
