Frankie"Elaine" Grayson

Frankie “Elaine” Grayson, 91, went to be in the arms of her Savior at her residence in Harlingen, Texas on October 17, 2021. She was born in Harlingen on Dec 31, 1929 to the late Frank and Ruby Kilbourn.

Raised in Harlingen, she graduated from Harlingen High School in 1948. Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church of Combes. After graduation, she married the love of her life, William “Estel” Grayson, and together they raised two children. Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed working on projects with Estel such as building their home from the ground up as well as building their own boat, designed with deep sides for fishing as a family. After her husband retired from a career in the wholesale hardware supply industry, they moved to Port Isabel and started their own business. Along with their son Elvin, they owned and operated Grayson Marine for many years until they sold the business in 2016.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, William “Estel” Grayson; son, Dwayne Elvin Grayson; parents, Frank and Ruby Kilbourn; brother, Charles Kilbourn; sister, Norma Faye Reis; and twin granddaughters, Amy Lynn and Leann Marie Grayson.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Stephen “Eric” Grayson (Debbie); grandchildren, Virginia Elaine Grayson (Cedric), Erica Lee Kindel, Melissa Sue Moncrief, Kyle William Grayson (Sydney); and her beautiful great grandchildren, Grayson, Deacon and Ethan Kindel; her newest great grandchild, Addison Mae Grayson; and her close friend and sister-in-law, Larue Kilbourn.

Graveside service and interment will take place Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Harlingen-Combes Cemetery.
