San Benito, TX: Francisco Villarreal, Sr., 77, of San Benito, TX passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
He was employed with Harlingen CISD and Lamar Advertising; he enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns and playing dominos.
He is preceded in death by his son, Blain Villarreal; his parents, Manuel and Andrea Villarreal; his brothers, Eddie and Manuel Villarreal; and his sister, Pauline Zapata.
Francisco is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia R. Villarreal; his children, Esmeralda (Joe) Garza, Olga Lara (Mark Garza), Edna (Rick) Contreras, and Frank Villarreal (Nora Maydon); his grandchildren, Erica (Freddy) Garcia, Jacob Villarreal, Joshua Lara, Joseph Lara, Danielle Contreras (Frank Yzaguirre), and Francisco (Trey) Villarreal III; and 7 great grandchildren; along with his brother, Alberto Villarreal; his sister, Aurora Villarreal; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Catholic Funeral Service at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Villarreal, Joshua Lara, Joseph Lara, Trey Villarreal, Jonathan Garcia, and Freddy Garcia; honorary pallbearers will be Jaiden Matthew Villarreal, Frank Yzaguirre, and Kyler Ryan Yzaguirre.
The family would like to send a Special Thanks to Dr. Brian O’Donnell, Dr. John Partin, Dr. Wayne Green, Dr. Oladayo Sanusi, and Dr. Juan Calero, the nurses and staff from Golden Palms and the nurses and staff from VBMC 5th floor, for the love and great care they gave our dad.
