Francisca Galvan, 68, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Monday, January 18, 2016.

Francisca was born in San Benito, Texas on February 9, 1947 to Natividad and Pascuala (Garcia) Galvan, Sr. She grew up in San Benito and attended school there. In 1968 she married Tomas Ortega, Sr. and they made their home in Ennis, Texas.

She worked for many years as a seamstress for Story’s Manufacturing and as a CNA at Claystone Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking for family, taking care of her plants and collecting angels.

She is survived by four sons: Thomas Ortega, Jr., Jamie Ortega and wife, Jennifer, and Lawrence Ortega and wife, Elizabeth and Andre Speed; daughters: Victoria Ortega Munson and husband, Rodrick, Esperanza Ortega-Ortiz and her husband, Ricky, Gloria Ortega Goss and husband Derrel, and Leticia Young and husband, Michael; twenty-two grandchildren: ten great-grandchildren; two brothers: Natividad Galvan, Jr. and Arturo Galvan along with sisters, Gloria Campos, Juanita Vasquez, Eva Hessbrook, Anita Galvan and Cynthia G. Gomez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tomas Rodriguez Ortega on January 30, 2015, two brothers, Luis and Ruben Galvan and one sister, Sophia Garcia.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis and on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 5 p.m.

In San Benito Visitation will be on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the San Benito Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Universe Church with Father Villalon as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Thomas Ortega, Jr., Jamie Ortega, Lorenzo Ortega, Terrence Ortega, Daniel Zamarripa, Jr. and Dusty Ortega. Interment will follow in the St. Vincente Cemetery.
