Francisca M. Bower

Los Fresnos, TX: Francisca M. Bower, 72, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
She received her Master’s degree in Education from Escuela Normal Rural Mixta –San Francisco in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 1961; she was a teacher in Honduras; she owned Bridgette’s Variety Shop in Port Isabel; and was a home health care provider. She enjoyed crochet, gardening, spiritual praise and healing, crafts and was a dog lover.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Santos Cruz and Lucila Madrid; a brother, Vicente Madrid; a nephew, Oscar Soto; and former husband, John Edward Bower.
Francisca is survived by her children, Bridgette L. Bower (Saul Trevino) of Harlingen; and Eva Bower (Lonnie) Lopez of Los Fresnos; her brother, Victor Manuel Madrid; along with her pets, 2 English bulldogs, Molly Maxine and Sniper.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
A Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at San Benito Funeral Home with Deacon Jesus Reyes. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearer will be Ramiro Lopez, Jr.; Pedro Lopez, Jr., Fred Pesina, Joe Jimenez, Eloy Guerrero, David G. Lopez; honorary pallbearers will be Victor Manuel Madrid, Lonnie Lopez, Saul Trevino and Leo DeGroot.
