Francis Joseph Beger

Francis “Joe” Beger, 94, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023 in Los Fresnos, Texas.  He was born to the late Carl and Gertrude Beger on January 29, 1929 in Boonville, Missouri.

Joe graduated from Saint Peter & Paul High School in Boonville, Missouri.  He proudly served his country for 22 years. Joe served as a Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  After retiring from the US Air Force, he worked an additional 25 years as a civilian for Intercontinental Engine Services, Sprague Electric, and retired from Leece-Neville.

Joe was avid reader, a billiard player, a bowler, and a fisherman and enjoyed traveling and see the world.

He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Joseph Beger, his parents, Carl and Gertrude Beger; his sisters, Marie Brewer, Louise Meyers, May Ann Burtner, Martha Jean Wilson, and Betty Meredith.

Left to treasure Joe’s memory is his wife, Martha Beger; his children, Linda Pollard (Larry), Chris Beger (Toby), Carl Beger (Debbie), Dan Beger (Diane), Paul Beger (Anita), Nathan Beger (Kim), Raul Beger, Alida Treviño (Ricardo), Katie Beger, Lucie Beger; his grandchildren, Julie Pollard, Nathan Beger, Andrew Beger, Aaron Beger, Regina Beger, Amanda Beger, Brian Beger, Rebecca Beger, Ryan Beger, Austin Beger, Emily Beger, Linnea Beger, Eric Beger, Xavier Beger, Anthony Strickland, Jose Strickland, Joseph Beger, Sebastian Melendez, Dominick Melendez, Ethan Melendez, Angeli Garza, Diego Treviño, Damain Treviño; and numerous great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Friday evening.  A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
