Harlingen, TX:
Frances “Jada” Rickert, 86, was born in Mayfield, Oklahoma on October 21, 1928 and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2015. She passed peacefully in her sleep at her home.
She was one of 10 children raised in the hardscrabble days of the Depression and Dust Bowl in Western Oklahoma. She moved to the Valley in 1946. She started working for Southwestern Bell in Mercedes and retired after a successful 36 year career.
Frances loved gardening, trips to South Padre Island with her best friend Jane Polk and her family and loved the Holiday Season, especially Christmas with friends and family.
Frances had a soul with a kind and gentle spirit and was generous to a fault. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Kate Stone of Erick, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Joe Rickert Sr.; two sons, Joe Rickert Jr. and Jim Massey (Kaye); two grandsons, Wade Massey (Amy) and Westin Massey (Sarah); and great grandchildren, Kayla, McKenzie and Tyler. Also surviving is her sister, Pat Tigner of Sayre, Oklahoma.
As per her wishes a private graveside service will be held.
