Frances D. Gillette

Frances Dale Gillette, 95, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in Harlingen, TX. She was born in Humble, TX on December 2, 1922 the youngest child of Charles and Lorena Dale.
She is survived by two children; Dale Gillette (Dare) of Dallas, TX and Kathy Gee (Arthur) of Harlingen; four grandchildren, McLauren Dale Gillette Corey (Girard) of Colorado, Kathryn Reid Gillette Garrett (Chase) of Lisbon, Portugal, Sarah Olzweski of Bartlesville, OK and Matthew Gee (Jennifer) of High Point, NC. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Marlee Olzweski, Peyton Gee and Carter Gee.
Frances graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School and attended Lamar Junior College before graduating from Pan American University in Edinburg, TX. Frances moved to Harlingen with her husband, Fred in 1955 after his service in World War II and Korea. She was employed for 30 years by the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District. She was a loyal member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Harlingen, serving in many capacities where there was need. She directed the Children's Choir at Sam Houston Elementary Bicentennial Celebration and sang for First Lady Betty Ford. Frances loved reading and studying the Bible for the Sunday School she taught for many years at her church. She is now with her Fred, who preceded her in death and whom she loved with all here heart since their marriage in 1942.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, December 10, 2018.
Memorial services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 with dear friend Rev. Wesley Putnam officiating. Private entombment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
