Retired Captain Foster Little, Jr.,

Retired Captain Foster Little, Jr., 84, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 24 at Harlingen Medical Center. Born August 28, 1936 in Cheshire, Ohio, he was the son of Foster Little Sr. and Effie Gandee. He married Brenda Gail Robbins in August 1954 divorcing in 1976, then marrying Leticia Garcia in April 2011.

Foster enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1953 and retired after a distinguished career in 1971. During his Marine career he served in Panama Canal Zone, Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Washington, DC. He attended specialized training: jump school, personal administration, FBI school at Quantico, FAA Air Security Guard in New York City and became part of the first group of “Sky Marshals” protecting passenger flights.

After retirement from the Marine Corp, Foster pursued many working adventures, owning a small local grocery store in North Carolina, working as a bartender in California, working for the Small Business Administration and Director of Navaco Security Company in Texas. In 1997 he passed his Real Estate Exam and joined the Century 21-Johnston of Harlingen Texas. In December 2015 he retired from selling real estate and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House at the Valley Baptist Medical Center and at the Harlingen Marine Military Academy Museum.

Foster loved to travel and lived in Australia, England, visited Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and south east England, hiked the Inca Trail in Peru and fished with wonderful friends in Alaska. He also loved to visit family and friends in the US, traveling to North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Arkansas, Kansas, California and Texas.

He enjoyed reading, watching the Fox News, Greta, The Five and was a staunch Republican. Foster loved spending “Therapy” time with the beer therapy guys every week to solve the world’s problems; traveling with Letty, having “toddy time” with Letty and friends, attending the First Baptist Church All Men’s Bible Study with Pastor Bill Reagan and spending time with his dogs Laredo and Charlie. He loved spending time talking and visiting with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family.

Foster is survived by his wife, Leticia G. Little of Harlingen, daughter and son-in-law Marci & Edward White and daughter Kandice Little Ondejko of Nashville, North Carolina, and son and daughter-in-law Mark Travis & Anh Little of Sylmar, California and brother Greg Little of Glenwood Springs, Colorado with 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and Scott Glandon, Nikki Glandon Scott and Mark Glandon nephews and niece who he loved dearly, and numerous Sister-in-Laws and Brother-in-Laws.

Foster is preceded in death by his daughter Andrea Little Streicher; sisters Hilah Little Glandon, Eugenia Pearl Little, Shirley Little and brothers Robert William Little, Charles Little, Keith Little.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Foster desires was to please make a small donation to any humane society.
