Feliciano T. Gonzales Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024 in Baytown, Texas. He was born to the late Manuel and Beatriz Tijerina Gonzales on February 8, 1937 in Las Yescas, Texas.
He proudly served his county as a Sergeant, U.S. Army during the Berlin Wall Crisis. Feliciano was employed as an Industrial Construction Superintendent in greater Houston area and retired after 40 plus years of dedicated service. He was of the Catholic faith.
In his leisure time, Chano was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking for large gatherings and quarter horse racing. He especially enjoyed sitting around a fire with family and friends exchanging stories, singing and “socializing”.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Alice Gonzales; his parents, Manuel and Beatriz Gonzales; brother, Ubaldo Gonzales (Noemi); and sisters, Rebecca Martinez (Guadalupe†) and Amelia Garcia (Enrique†).
Left to treasure Feliciano’s memory are his sons, Jaime Luis Gonzales (Mary), Feliciano Gonzales Jr., Victor Manuel Gonzales, Samuel Gonzales (Danielle); his grandchildren, Isabella Marie Gonzales, Savannah Rose Gonzales, Kailee Amber Gonzales, Meredith Paige Gonzales, Ruby Louise Gonzales, Abigail Faye Gonzales, Benito Garcia Gonzales; his sisters, Catarina Flores (Junior) and Alicia Abrego (Higinio†); and his many nieces and nephews.
The Gonzales family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 o’clock Sunday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Feliciano will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Michael Flores, Orlando Ochoa, Higinio “JR” Abrego Jr., Mario Alfredo Rodriguez, Rolando Rodriguez, Mario Luis Salazar, and Xavier Garza. Honorary pallbearers are Teofilo (Junior) Flores and Federico Gonzales.
