Everett “Rusty” Clevenger, Jr., age 69, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at home surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born on May 14, 1951. He was reared in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1969. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann on July 26, 1974. The raised two daughters, April and Amber.
Together, Rusty and Mary Ann started their journey in New Mexico. They moved to Missouri and California. They later settled in Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri where they resided for many years. He worked in sales during his life. Recently, Rusty and Mary Ann retired in Rio Hondo, Texas.
Rusty served in the U. S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was active in the American Legion and the AMVETS. He served as commander for Omer M. Goode American Legion Post 229, Eldon, Missouri and AMVETS Post 108, Rocky Mount, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann; daughters, April and her husband Doug, and Amber; sister, Annette. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Rusty was a devoted husband and father. He will be remembered as a funny, lovable, and very loving friend to all that he knew. He prided himself on being with “his girls”. We will miss his laughter and his dancing, but most of all, his smile.
Due to the current pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
