Evelyn Lorraine (Champion) Lachico, 81, entered into her eternal life on Saturday, March 15, 2014. She was born in Brownsville on (Valentine’s Day), February 14, 1933 to George Albert Champion and Erlene Hannah. She attended local Catholic Schools and Villa Maria Academy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Jessie Joseph Lachico, father, George Albert Champion, mother, Erlene Hannah Carlino, brother, Robert Champion and sister, Billie Petruska. Survivors are her children, Debra Lachico, Denise Lachico, Jessie Lachico, Jr. (Rosie), grandchildren, Celina Nunez (Mago), Kristine Lachico (Chrissie), C.J. Noyola (Tricia), Jesse D. Lachico, Lyanna Casares and great grandchildren, Eli and Ava Nunez.
The family is eternally grateful to her caregiver, Maria Guerrero, (Jordan) for the last 8 years and Dr. Roberto Robles of Brownsville. Also appreciation to Dora Cantu, RN and other CIMA Hospice staff for their support.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Dr. in Harlingen.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 2:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2014 with Pastor Kelly Rumfield of the Northway Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Lachico, Jr., C.J. Noyola, Jesse D. Lachico, Alex Champion, Rusty Brechot, and John Champion. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jack Ayoub.
