Evaristo Gonzales

Evaristo Gonzales passed from this life on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the age of 84.  A San Benito native, Evaristo was born to Trinidad Gonzales and Natalia Gonzales on September 26, 1933.

He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army.  Evaristo worked as an inspector for the Texas Highway Department for 35 years.  He loved his family and his greatest joy was his grandchildren.

Evaristo was preceded in death by his daughter, Melba Gonzales.

Evaristo is survived by his wife, Amelia Gonzales; son, Gabriel Gonzales (Norma); daughters, Melissa Gonzales and Martha Garcia (Rudy).  He had three granddaughters, Amber, Amily, and Ashly Garcia, who will miss their lovely grandfather tremendously; and two grandsons, Gabriel and Zachary Gonzales.

The Gonzales family will be receiving friends and relatives on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at San Benito Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 o’clock on Friday afternoon at St. Theresa Catholic Church.  Following the funeral mass, Evaristo will be laid to rest with military honors at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
