Eulalia “Lala” G. Garza, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 8, 2021. She was born in Garrison, TX on December 10, 1924 to Encarnacion Garcia and Paula Noriega. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Eulalia was the second oldest of 11 siblings. She loved cooking (mole was her all-time favorite); playing Bingo in her earlier years. Her favorite was watching Texas Rangers baseball, she knew each player by name and number. She loved playing lottery scratch-offs, going to garage sales, shopping at the Salvation Army thrift store and at numerous other thrift stores. She also LOVED going out to eat with family and friends.
Lala was known to be a charitable person. She always had something to give to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she adored. She also never forgot to express her charitable ways towards her friends, church, and community.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church for over 20 years in San Benito, TX. She took pride in being the first member of her church community.
Eulalia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Daniel J. Garza; son, Rodolfo Pineda, granddaughter, Theresa L. Pineda; parents, Encarnación and Paula; sisters, Isabel Garcia, Romana Treviño, Matilde Gonzales, Manuela Rios; brothers, Julian N. Garcia, Miguel N. Garcia; daughter-in-law, Rosa I. Ruiz; and sister-in-law, Celia Garcia.
Left to treasure her memory are her children, Manuel Ruiz III, Arnoldo (Diana) Garza, Rene Daniel (Rosie) Garza, Liezzeth “Liz” (Max) Garza Torres; daughters-in-law, Maria Longoria, Elvira Perez Pineda; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; siblings; Margarito Garcia, Alfonso (Minerva) Garcia, Manuel (Luz Maria) Garcia, Natalia (Beto) Grimaldo; and, numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Rene Daniel Garza, Daniel R. Garza, Johnny Joe Garza, Max Torres, Sr., Max A. Torres, Rudy Zepeda, Javier D. Ruiz, Rodolfo Pineda, Jr., Daniel Pineda, Noah Garcia, and Keelan Torres.
Eulalia’s family wishes to thank her caregivers, Elvira Perez Pineda, Brenda Martinez, Francisca Arredondo, and Magali Constante for their continuous love, daily care and the compassion provided towards our loving mom.
A private viewing and prayer service will take place on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.
