Eugene “Gene” Vincent Allen

Eugene “Gene” Vincent Allen entered into rest Saturday, May 31, 2014 in McAllen Medical Center.
He was born May 31, 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, son of John and Alma Hagel Jurkowski.
Gene served as Marine Corporal during the Korean War. After the war he attended and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Relations. He then accomplished several successful professions such as FBI Agent; Special Investigator in Charge with United Airlines; Auctioneer; Real Estate Agent; Court Clerk Trustee; and Texas Municipal Court Judge.
As a Marine Corp. veteran Gene was always active in service to his comrades as lifetime member at Harlingen’s VFW Post, American Legion, DAV Unit 121 serving as Commander, Harlingen Veteran’s Advisory Board serving as Chairman and served in the VA as Peer-to-Peer Specialist. Gene was also a multi-media artist and photographer and volunteered at Air Show events.
Gene is survived by his wife Teresa de la Rosa-Allen and five sons and two daughters; Robert (Tracy) of Spokane, Washington, Edward (Jan) of Clearwater, Florida, Phillip (Angela) of Port Orchard, Washington, Pete (Jennifer) of San Antonio, Texas, Luis (Valerie) of Edinburg, Texas, Jill (Scott) of Tampa, Florida and Teresa (Jaime) of San Benito, Texas and various grandchildren.
He will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the Marine Military Academy at the Iwo Jima Memorial in Harlingen, Texas at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4th, 2014 proceeding a reception at the American Legion Post 205.
