Harlingen, Texas:
Esteban Pavón, 64, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen after complications following a lengthy illness. He professed Jesus Christ as His Savior and knew he would be in heaven when he left this earth. Those of us left behind are anxiously waiting for the Lord’s return.
Esteban was born March 22, 1948 in El Hatillo, Honduras, Central America to Jose Toribio Pavón and Santos Lilian Pavón Ordoñez. He was raised in Honduras and came to Texas to marry Catherine Dahlman on December 17, 1976. Esteban was a Master Welder until he changed careers to become the Vice-President of All Home Care, Inc. in 1995. Esteban attended the Rio Hondo Baptist Church. He had a real love for music and would play the guitar and sing with his family. Esteban had a sweet tooth; and enjoyed taking care of his dogs Kaili and Lady and his pet cockatiels. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Jose Toribio Pavón; mother Santos Lilian Pavón; and his brother Jose Manuel Pavón.
Esteban is survived by his wife Catherine Pavón of Harlingen, TX; his children, Rebecca (Céleo) Osorio of Harlingen, TX, Steven (Marta) Pavón of Harlingen, TX, Michael (Malissa) Pavón of Harlingen; grandchildren Megan, Myranda, Caleb, Iliana, Joshua, Marybelle, and a new grand baby due in May; siblings Jose Ramon Pavon “Moncho”, Yolanda Pavón, Florencio Pavón “Lencho”; and Ana Gloria Russell; and many brothers and sisters-in-law as well as nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the family present from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012, 11 a.m., at Rio Hondo Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Horton, officiating. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
