San Benito, TX: Epifania Martinez, 82, of San Benito, Texas entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Martinez Lozano and her husband, Rafael Lozano of San Antonio, Texas; and her two sons, George Martinez and his wife, Susan of Denver, Colorado; and Oscar Martinez and his wife, Sandy of Victoria, Texas; she is also survived by four proud grandsons, Mark, Nathan, Oscar and Johnny and his wife, Erin, and great granddaughter, Alex Emily.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Juan Martinez; her parents, Jose and Soila Sosa; and two sisters, Oralia Gonzalez and Hortencia Garza; and two brothers, Gilberto and Guadalupe Sosa.
Mom (Mamita) was born and raised in San Benito where she was blessed with a wonderful marriage of 54 years to her husband, Juan Martinez. She was a very kind and loving wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Mamita took great pride and joy in loving and caring for her family. She enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening and working with ceramics.
Epifania was a longtime member of the Iglesia Presbiteriana Getsemani of San Benito. In recent years she lived with her daughter, Norma and son-in-law, Rafael, in San Antonio where she enjoyed spending time with family.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, January 21, 2011 at San Benito Funeral Home, 1400 West Hwy 77 in San Benito, Texas. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Tom Johnson presiding.
The funeral service will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Iglesia Presbiteriana Getsemani of San Benito; 140 Diaz St. in San Benito. The burial will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
