Daddy devoted 42 years of his life to the San Benito Consolidated School District as a school bus driver. He loved his job and looked forward to working every day-even when he was sick. For 42 years he safely ushered San Benito children all over the state- to schools, games, band competitions, end of year events and many other trips. He even drove teachers and students to safety during hurricanes and floods. Only recently, he decided that this would be his last year working. On Friday, September 29th, he clocked out on what would be his last time as a bus driver. We now invite all his bus kids over the years to help us usher him into eternal rest.
He was of the catholic faith and was a devout believer to the Virgen de San Juan de los Lagos.
In his leisure time, Daddy enjoyed being outside in nature, traveling to visit family in Mexico, spoiling his grandchildren with trips to San Antonio, watching cowboy movies, and he especially enjoyed listening to Vicente Fernandez music.
The Saucedo family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Daddy will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Enrique Saucedo III, Joey Peña, Michael Peña, David Saucedo Jr., Isaiah Galindo, Elijah Galindo, Nathan Treviño, and Priscilla Barrera. Isabella Saucedo and April Lynn Barrera and Christopher Galindo will serve as honorary pallbearers.
We all already miss you daddy! We can’t imagine our world without you in it. We will keep fighting like you taught us to.
As Daddy always said to his children, “haganse fuertes y siganle adelante”
