Enedelia Cano

June 14, 1945 — September 22, 2022

Enedelia Gonzales Cano went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 22, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Enedelia was born in San Benito, Texas on June 14, 1945 to Francisco and Amada Gonzalez. She was the youngest of twelve children and a proud graduate of Los Fresnos High School.

Enedelia married the love of her life, Josué Cano, on August 31, 1973. They were happily married for forty-nine years and together they created a beautiful family - Josué Jr, Denise and Venessa. She devoted her life to being a stay-at-home mom and raising her children to love and the serve the Lord.

Along with being a wonderful mother, Enedelia was a successful businesswoman. She and Josue started Valley Discount Fireworks and have been in business for forty-eight years. She was beloved by her employees because she was kind, generous and compassionate.

Enedelia’s greatest blessings were her grandchildren, Josué III, Jeremiah, Jacob, Iliana, Hector and Gabriel. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She spent a lot of time playing the piano and singing with them. Sleepovers at Grandma’s were always the best because she always gave her grandchildren her undivided attention and they always had fun with her. She instilled in them the importance of serving the Lord.

In her free time, Enedelia enjoyed attending church, traveling with her family, watering her plants, watching her novelas and playing the piano. Her life was the true example of Mathew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Her light was the brightest and she loved and served others all the days of her life.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Francisco and Amada Gonzalez; her brothers, Ramiro and Reymundo Gonzalez; her sisters, Paula Leal, María Carmen Gonzalez, Rogelia Gonzales Balderas, Cristina Gonzalez, and Acelia Huerta; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Left to treasure her beautiful memory is her loving husband, Josué Cano; her children, Josué (Amy) Cano, Annette Denise Cano, Venessa (Hector) Acosta; her grandchildren, Josué Cano III, Jeremiah Genaro Cano, Jacob Andrew Cano, Iliana Sofia Acosta, Hector Juan Acosta III, and Gabriel Nicolas Acosta. She is also survived by her brothers, Reynaldo (Dora) Gonzalez, Abel Gonzales, Raul (Noelia) Gonzales, Elias Gonzales; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Gonzalez and Emelia Gonzalez; and her in-laws, Noelia Davila, Eloina Davila, Leonor Cano, Felix (Haydee) Cano, and Genaro (Maricela) Cano.

A Homegoing Service will take place Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. Following the service, Enedelia will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
