EMMA J. NAGY

Funeral Mass for Emma J. Nagy will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Harlingen on Friday, March 30th at 10 a.m. Emma Nagy was born in Leroy, Texas on January 12, 1918 to Rudolph and Anna Kutscherousky and died in Austin, Texas on March 25, 2012. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park under the direction of Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Emma Nagy graduated as a registered nurse from Providence Hospital, Waco, Texas in 1941 and served as 1st Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps at Sheppard Field Wichita Falls, Texas and at Camp Swift Bastrop, Texas until discharged in 1945. She later was associated with the Valley Baptist Medical Center and School of Nursing as Clinical Instructor until retiring in 1979. She was married to Frank L. Nagy in February 1947 and they made their home in Harlingen from 1947 until his death in 1993.
Emma Nagy was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Women of St. Anthony’s. She was active in the Cub Scouts and Mothers Club at St. Anthony’s School and enjoyed quilting with her friends at the Harlingen Quilting Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank L. Nagy, son Frank L. Nagy, Jr., her parents, and eight brothers and sisters, August Kutscherousky, Dorothea Kutscherousky, Martha Giesen, Isidor Kutscherousky, Margaret Kolody, Ernest Kutscherousky, Regina Grifith, and Herman Kutscherousky.
She is survived by three sisters: Theresa Kubacak of Hereford, Polly Derby of Virginia, and Bena Trussell of Rowlett; her three sons: Daniel L. Nagy of Brownsville, Richard D. Nagy of Austin, and Michael A. Nagy of Austin; three daughters-in-law: Linda Kribbs Nagy, Sally Hamilton Nagy and Betsy M. Nagy; seven grandchildren: Rachel Miller Nagy, Sarah Miller Nagy, Rebekah Miller Nagy, Michael William Eifling, Natalie Nicole Nagy, Luke Matthew Nagy and Steven Andrew Nagy, grand-daughter-in-law Dinalva Ferreira Eifling and two great-grandchildren: Michael Eifling and Matheus Eifling; and fifty-five nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her sons Daniel Nagy, Richard Nagy and Michael Nagy and grandsons Michael Eifling, Luke Nagy and Steven Nagy.
