Elvira M. Cervantes, 95, passed away Friday November 7, 2008. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, a grandson, Luis Javier Pena and a granddaughter, Alicia Gonzales. She is survived by one son, Ruben (Dora) Cervantes of Edinburg, TX; four daughters, Lina (Neftali) Pena of Chicago, IL; Pola (Juan) Aguilar of San Benito, TX; Margarita (Rodolfo Rosales of Chicago, IL, Carmen (Valentin) Garcia of San Benito, TX; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at San Benito Funeral Home on Sunday November 9, 2008 and Monday November 10, 2008 from 3pm to 9pm with a prayer service at 7pm on both nights. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2008 at 10am at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
