Elsie Dietz Weber
Harlingen:
Elsie Weber was born March 31, 1912 and was made a child of God when she was baptized as an infant. On April 9, 2009 the promise of eternal life was fulfilled to her.
Elsie Weber was born in San Antonio, TX the eldest daughter of eight children born to Theo and Clara Dietz.  The family lived in various places in Texas during her younger years, but moved to Kingsville, TX in the early 1920’s where she grew to adulthood. Elsie graduated from Kingsville High School and worked for Central Power and Light in Kingsville until her marriage to Ross Weber in Kingsville, TX on September 19, 1937. They lived in Corpus Christi and San Antonio before moving to Harlingen in 1951.  Her husband of 51 years was vice president of Texas Linen and Texas Industrial Services until his retirement in 1987.  He preceded her in death on June 20, 1989.
Elsie was a life long Lutheran and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Harlingen for 58 years.  She responded to God’s love by serving as a Sunday School teacher, vacation bible school teacher, alter guild member, and several positions in the St. Paul Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth and Pat Weber of Kerrville, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Kae and Hershal Theilen of Houston, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Stephen Schwartz of Harlingen, TX; six granddaughters, one grandson and eleven great grandchildren.  Elsie is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Rabenaldt of San Antonio, TX and Judy Fischer of Fredericksburg, TX.
The family also wishes to thank her caregivers Irma Cruz, Lolita Garza, Vicky Hernandez, and Alicia Torres.  They lovingly cared for Elsie in her home for 10 years.
Following a private burial at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, a worship service celebrating and praising God for the life of Elsie Weber will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 13 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Harlingen.  The family will receive friends at a reception in the St. Paul Parish Hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. Paul Academy.
