Elsie May Russ, 91, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at La Hacienda Nursing Center. Elsie was born May 19, 1918 in Gnadenhutten, Ohio to Grant Huebner and Ruth Moore Plotts.
She was a resident of Harlingen, TX and a former resident of Massillon, Ohio. Elsie loved family, friends, golfing, gardening, entertaining and traveling. Her kindness and zest for life touched so many and she will be missed by all. Our merciful Lord has carried her home.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Russ; grandchildren, Deborah & Stephen Allman; mother, Ruth Moore Plotts; father, Grant Huebner; step-father, Taylor Plotts; step brother, Bill Plotts; and step sisters, Marie Ritter and Pauline Glenn.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan and her husband Edward Allman; granddaughters, Susan Goodrich and her husband Tim, Lisa Kirkus and her husband Eddie; great grandchildren, Tim and Jenni Goodrich, Samantha and Christopher Waller; step sister, Betty Himes; and long time friend, Leo Moore.
Elsie requested that she be remembered as we knew her – and asked that no formal services be arranged.
