Elaine H. Krueger

Elaine H. Krueger, age 90, of Harlingen, TX, passed away on November 5, 2024. Born on March 24, 1934, in Minneapolis, MN to John and Lillian Hunt.

Elaine was a proud graduate of Columbia Heights High School, where she was honored as the Valedictorian. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Augsburg College. Her professional career spanned over 20 years as a Medical Technician before her retirement.

On June 23, 1956, she married Wally Krueger, with whom she shared a joyful marriage that lasted for 65 wonderful years until his passing in 2021.

An avid knitter, Elaine created countless handmade items, including afghans, sweaters, mittens, and stocking caps for her family and friends. Among her most treasured creations were hand-made Christmas stockings for each of her children and grandchildren. She also had a profound love for reading and was an enthusiastic participant in various book clubs throughout her life and was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Gary Krueger (Lori) and Wayne Krueger (Madonna), as well as her beloved grandchildren: Shane Krueger (Marisa), Allison Krueger, Chad Krueger (Jackie), and Aaron Krueger.

A celebration of her life will take place on November 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. 

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her dedicated caregiver, Nora, as well as the staff at Mt. Sinai Hospice and Valley View Assisted Living for their compassionate care.

Elaine had a lifelong dream of participating as a contestant on her favorite television game shows, "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy."

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in her honor.
