Edward Chapa, 52, passed away on Friday, April 08, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
Edward was born November 8, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to Luciano and Idolina Chapa. He proudly served his country and retired from the U.S. Navy and held a Doctorate of Psychology. Edward enjoyed listening and composing music and barbequing with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luciano and Idolina (Guerra) Chapa.
Edward is survived by his siblings, Bertha (Ernesto) Pena, Celina (Raul) Degollado, and Luciano (Violeta) Chapa and nieces and nephews, Ernesto (Cynthia) Pena, Oneida Pena, Cassandra, Briana, David (Elizabeth) Degollado, Eugene (Yvonne), Edward (Andrea), Edmond (Heather) Chapa, Nina (Carlos) Acosta, Eric, Alondra and Ariana Chapa.
Visitation was held Friday, April 08, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the Holy Rosary prayed at 7 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home
Catholic funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011, 10 a.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Deacon Gilbert Perez officiating. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 205.
Pallbearer will be Ernesto Pena III, Raul David Degollado, Luciano Eugene Chapa Jr., Noe Saldana, Hector Gutierrez Jr. and Benjamin Blanco.
