Eduviges V. De La Fuente

Eduviges V. De La Fuente, 87, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
She was born and raised in San Benito. She worked and retired from Cameron County Irrigation Water District 2. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Society, Vela Perpetua and she taught CCD for 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Esteban De La Fuente Sr, her parents Jose and Julia Vasquez, her brother Jorge Canales, her sisters Anita Montez and Maria Montemayor.
She is survived by her four sons, Esteban De La Fuente Jr of Corpus Christi, Jorge (Alma) De La Fuente of San Benito, Luis (Nora) De La Fuente of Harlingen and Gilberto (Patricia) De La Fuente of San Benito; six daughters, Estela De La Fuente of San Benito, Silvia (Lorenzo+) Martinez of Hereford, Texas, Julia (Julio Mendez) Pena of Dumas, Texas, Minerva (Mark) Rakher of Winthrop Harbour,lL, Felipa (Paul) Resendez of San Benito, and Lucia (Jorge) Garcia of San Benito, 26 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and her many good friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a Divine Mercy at 6:30 p.m. and a rosary recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at San Benito Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Gardens.
