Eduardo Guzman

Eduardo Guzman, 97, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 21, 2024. He was born January 1, 1927 to the late Francisco and Alicia Guzman. 

Eduardo worked many years as a farmer, enjoyed tending his garden and yard, and loved to fish. Above all else, Eduardo was a man of prayer and faith. He served many years faithfully as a church deacon and enjoyed fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ. Eduardo instilled the value of hard work, faith, and most importantly having a relationship with Christ to his family. His walk with Christ was evident everyday by his character and prayer life. He was a faithful servant until the very end.

Eduardo is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Guadalupe Guzman, his parents Francisco and Alicia Guzman, and his brother Roberto Guzman. 

Left to treasure Eduardo’s memory are his children Rosa (David) Salazar, Hazel Guzman, Cesar (Rosie) Guzman, David (Dora Alicia) Guzman, Daniel (Dalia) Guzman, Edward (Alma) Guzman, Nereida (Matthew) Stolp, and Mark Guzman (grandson/son). He is also survived by his brother, Gaspar Guzman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Cherishing his memory are also 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. 

Eduardo’s family wishes to thank the Gentiva Hospice staff and Rosie Hernandez for the compassionate care they provided for him. 

The Guzman family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 7 o’clock Wednesday evening (The prayer service will be livestream: https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/index.php?data=MTcxOTQ0MTkyODMxNTk5OSZvbmVyb29tLWFkbWluJmNvcHlfbGluaw==). A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Eduardo will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
