Edith E. (Rollins) Hamilton, 88, went to be the our Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Valley Baptist Medical Center after a short illness.
Edith was born on October 14, 1918 in Alexandria, LA and moved to Texas at an early age. She attended Texas Southmost College in Brownsville and worked for Dr. Troy Shafer for many years. She was a member of the lst Baptist Church in Harlingen from childhood, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for several years.
Edith is survived by two sons, John (Marilyn) Hamilton of West Columbia, TX and Bobby (Dora) Hamilton of San Benito; brother, Ray Rollins of Harlingen; grandchildren, Tom Hamilton of Cancub, TX, Beverly (Lee) Vrazel of Lake Jackson, TX Susanne Hamilton of Lake Jackson, TX, Sharon Hamilton of Austin, TX; great-grandson, Alex Vrazel of Lake Jackson, TX and good friend and cousin, Susie Bennett of Harlingen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert B. Hamilton, Jr., son, David Lee Hamilton and parents, John Rollins and Lillie Weaver Rollins.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 2:00 PM, Monday, February 5, 2007 with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
