E. Jean Coffman

Harlingen:
E. Jean Coffman, 94, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at her residence in Harlingen.
Jean was born March 13, 1921 in Bradford, PA to Fred and Francis Sprague.    She graduated from Otto High School in Duke Center, PA and later became a Medical Records Secretary.  She was a member of the Keystone Chapter #2 Eastern Star also in Duke Center. PA.
Jean moved to the Harlingen area in 1987.  She was a volunteer with the Harlingen Neighborhood Food Pantry and Host Program where she loved to work with children.  She also was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Harlingen.
She is survived by her sons; Jim (Wende) Coffman, Jr.-Harlingen, TX and Dan (Peggy) Coffman-Lewis, DE; daughter-in-law; Dixie Coffman-Elma, NY; grandchildren; Susan Strong and Jennifer Tellez-Harlingen TX, Kelly Contreras- Brockport, NY, Chris Coffman-Orchard Park, NY, Jim Coffman III-Columbus, OH, Bill Coffman-Baltimore, MD, Randy Coffman-Tampa, FL, Jennifer Mahar-Olean, NY, Sarah Valentine-Orchard Park, NY and Kristen Garza-Harlingen, TX; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Coffman, Sr. in 1990, whom she married September 25, 1938; sons, Tommy Coffman 1962 and Perry Coffman 2015.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 25, 2016 with Father Scott Brown officiating.  A reception will follow the services in the church fellowship hall.
Her ashes will be interred with her husband’s at the McKean Memorial Park in Mt. Alton, PA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Harlingen Neighborhood Food Pantry, P.O. Box 937, Harlingen, TX 78551
