Louise Chambliss, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2007.  Louise was born October 11, 1918 in Norton, KS to Charles Benson Madden and Ethel May Howell Madden.  She had been a resident of the Valley since 1973. Louise retired from the U.S. Forest Service in Denver, Colorado and was an enthusiastic supporter of the B.P.O. Does Drove 90 and Harlingen Elks Lodge #1889.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Frank C. Henderson, second husband, James R. “Buck” Chambliss, Jr. and her sister, Dorothy Lundgren.
Louise is survived by her son, Dennis Henderson and wife, Lee Ann of Harlingen; one granddaughter, Sandy Jo Henderson, U.S.N.; and two great grandchildren, Colby and Maxxwell Whitaker.  She is also survived by her three nieces, Ramona Hawk, Leslie Ostrum, Chris Moore and one nephew, David Lundgren; and her sister, Glee Jones of Denver, CO.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2007 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held Monday, March 12, 2007, 10 a.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Dohoney officiating and the ceremony conducted by the B.P.O. Does.  Burial will be held in Denver, CO at a later date.
