E. Clinton (Bud) Breedlove, 86, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Bud was born September 14, 1922 in Tupelo, OK to Elam Clay and Lula Breedlove.
Bud proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was past president and board chair of the First National Bank of Harlingen and past board member of Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen. Bud was a founding representative and board of directors of the Marine Military Academy. He was also a Don of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Algondon Club. Bud was an avid reader, bird watcher and a collector of authentic pieces.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Rosalind Hill, Claye Booth, and Marjorie Mouton.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and companion Rosa Breedlove; his daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ron Driggs, Mary Ann Breedlove, Beth Breedlove, Carol and Tom See, Amy Leon, Erin and Mike Archibald, Linda and Mike Gomez, Rosemary and Lalo DeLeon; sisters, Nedra Smith, Robbie Durham, and Polly and Bob Polk; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Harlingen on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Frank Dudley. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Ron Driggs, Tom See, Mike Archibald, Dutch Harvey, Mike Gomez, and Margarito Cardenas.
