Doyle Jackson Todd, Jr. “Jack”, 51, of Harlingen, Texas, assistant principal of Harlingen High School, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.
Jack was born on March 27, 1967 in Pasadena, CA to Doyle Jackson and Mary Glyn Todd. He attended Brady High School in Brady, Texas and then the University of Texas in Austin where Jack received his Bachelor’s degree in Education. He also attended the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley where he received his Master’s degree in Education Administration. Jack served as a Special Education Teacher at South Texas High School for the South Texas I.S.D, as a principal for the San Perlita I.S.D., as an assistant principal at Nikki Rowe High School for the McAllen I.S.D. and most recently as an assistant principal for Harlingen High School.
He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity for UT Austin and the First United Methodist Church, Harlingen, TX where he served in various capacities over the years. Jack dedicated multiple hours serving Harlingen High School and enjoyed traveling with his family, camping at the beach, RVing across America, and volunteering at First United Methodist Church.
Doyle was a spirited individual with a spunk for life. He devoted his life to caring for others and ensuring success in the lives of his students. He took great pride in having the opportunity to serve the student at HHS, as well as work in the same school his daughter attended. He was a rock. When he got upset, he stayed calm. When he was worried, he said it would be ok. When he wasn’t sure what to do, he figured it out. He was completely dedicated to his family in every way – and their strength during this time is the best sign we could have that Doyle is still here with us in spirit.
Jack is survived by his wife Michele Ann Todd; his daughters Victoria Ann, Maryclare Kathryn, Sabrina Jackson, his mother Mary Glyn (Kittle) Todd; his sister Jill (Todd) Keith; and brother-in-law Michael Keith. He is also survived by his aunt Chloma (Todd) Burk; cousins Cindy Rantal, Mike Johnson, Pat Johnson, Todd Johnson, Ricky Burk, Jeff Burk, Susan Stokes, Johnna Elms; and nieces and nephews Jordan Keith, Abbey Keith, Max Keith, Austin Keith, Hannah Sanders, Lily Sanders and his pet Buddy.
