Doug Russell

Doug Russell, owner of Doug’s Automotive in Harlingen, TX, left this earth to join his wife Daurice on Monday, January 21, 2019. He was born on April 27, 1953 to parents Stanley and Joyce Russell.

Doug was very well known and loved around the Rio Grande Valley and the Texas Hill Country. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at his ranch in Utopia. Doug’s favorite time spent was with his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed his days working at the shop and visiting with his customers, friends and brother.

Doug is survived by his daughters, Joyce Hacker (Marc Luxemburg) of Hutto and Toni Cox (Scott Saunders) of Utopia; grandchildren Kalub, Madison, Savanna, Robert, Chandley and Ty; siblings Kipper (Jackie) Russell, Georgia (Paul) Sulsh and Elaine (Dean) Cunningham; sister in law D’Etta (Martin) Breuer; mother-in-law Minnie Goettel; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26th, at 3:00pm, at Doug’s Automotive - 1501 N. 77 Sunshine Strip in Harlingen, TX.
