Dorris Jean Borchers, 82, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at Harlingen Medical Center.
Dorris was born February 3, 1925 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Edward and Cora Clary and had lived in Harlingen since 1946. She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church and will be most remembered for centering her life around her loving family.
Dorris is survived by daughters, Sue Ann (Bill) Holloman of Harlingen and Bobbie Jo (Jeff) Proctor of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda (Rick) Powelson of Harlingen and Bryan Holloman of Harlingen; great grandchildren, Shelby and Sydney Powelson of Harlingen; step great grandchildren, Brandon, Stephanie and Shannon Powelson; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bob Borchers and sister, Eleanor Jackson. Dorris and Bob owned and operated Borchers Electric in Harlingen for 32 years.
Visitation hours will be from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the funeral home.
Graveside services only will be held at the Mont Meta Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 10:00 AM, Monday, June 18, 2007 with the Rev. Mark Coppins officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
