Dorothy I. McIntosh

San Benito, TX:
Dorothy Ione McIntosh, 96, died March 29, 2014.  She was born February 18, 1918 in Palestine, Texas to William Duncan McIntosh and Lelia Florence Neuman McIntosh.  In 1924 her family moved to San Benito, Texas.  She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
A career woman, Dorothy was employed by Central Power and Light Company and worked in the San Benito local office for many years until her retirement.
A devout Christian, Dorothy loved Holy Scripture, and her bible was always within reach for reading or discussion.  She possessed a keen sense of humor and was adept at writing poetry in celebration of birthdays and other special occasions.  Devoted to family and friends, she enjoyed baking unique cakes and pies for get togethers.  Dorothy was loved by all whose lives she touched and will be truly missed.
Survivors include the following nieces and nephews. Jane Stock (Dick), Corpus Christi Texas, Joe Shafer (A.J.) Mountain Home, Texas; Bob McIntosh (Betty) Harlingen, Texas;  Donald McIntosh (Claudia) Harlingen, Texas; Philip McIntosh (Sue) Alaxandria, Virginia; Maridel Renfroe (Don)  Greenbrier, Arkansas;  Mary June DiPaola,  Ranchita, California, Dick McIntosh (Diana) Edmonds, Washington;  Skipper and Joann Folsom, Harlingen, Texas.
Also surviving is beloved friend and caregiver Irma Gonzales.

Graveside services will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Cemetery Friday April 4, at 3pm officiated by The Reverend Ed Roberson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to First Presbyterian Church, 566 N. Reagan St., San Benito, Texas 78586 or charity of choice.
