Doris “Dodi” Waters, 88, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Aurora House in Weslaco, TX.
Dodi was born March 31, 1923 in Clovis, New Mexico to James Randell Patton and Jennie Kathryn Lard Patton. She attended Cottey College in Nevada, MO for 2 years. Dodi was a member of First Christian Church of Harlingen and member of the Magic Valley Bridge Club Unit 237, where she achieved the status of a Gold Life Master in duplicate bridge. Dodi enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Randell and Jennie Kathryn Patton, her husband, Olen Lynvill “Lyn” Waters, and sisters, Billye Jacobs and Patsy Thompson.
Dodi is survived by her children, Dr. Stephen R. “Randy” Waters and wife, Dr. Judi Thurber and Kathy Waters and husband, Patrick Brockwell; granddaughter, Angela Krebs; great grandchildren, Hannah & Riley Krebs; and siblings, Jim Patton of Ruidoso, NM and Marge Homburg of Ocean City, MD.
A celebration of Dodi’s life will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011, 10 a.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Coppins officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.

Dodi will be greatly missed for her incredible sense of humor, generosity, love of both people and animals and the way she made everyone feel special. Her infectious energy will be missed as she never let a birthday go by without leading the group in singing “Happy Birthday” while standing on top of a chair. Dodi’s ability to laugh and love was her gift to all.
