Dora Sanchez Vela, 86 years old, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2017.
Dora was born on February 7, 1931 in Harlingen, TX. She was a nurse with the Texas State Hospital in Harlingen, TX for 23 years. Dora was also a business owner of the famous Vela’s Restaurant for 30 years, Café L’Gant and most recently had opened DV’s on West Van Buren St.
She was preceded by her husband, Victor Vela and her siblings Simon Garcia, Raul Torres and Petrita De La Rosa.
Dora is survived by her daughters Rosalinda Cavazos, Belinda Siegrist, Blanca Brumble and Christina Cervantes; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 9 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
