Donnie Ray Buster, 68, passed away on March 20, 2018 in Harlingen, TX.
Donnie Ray was born June 5, 1949 in Naples, TX to James Hunter (deceased) and Charlie Mae Buster. Donnie Ray graduated from Paul H. Pewitt High School (Class of ’68) where he was a star football player in the combined Omaha and Naples towns. Donnie Ray continued his education at Prairie View A & M University studying engineering. He graduated from Texas State Technical College with a degree in Computer Drafting & Design Technology. Donnie Ray was a salesman and entrepreneur.
Donnie Ray loved having a good time--playing dominos, spades, bid whist and chess, teaching all of his brothers and sisters how to play. He also enjoyed listening to music, singing and most of all telling funny stories.
Donnie Ray is survived by his three sons; Gregory Buster (Jerrica), Anthony J. Buster, and Theodore M. “Marlow” Jackson; his grandkids: Samuel Gregory Buster, Ralyn Marie Jackson Buster and Adam Buster; his mother Charlie Mae Buster Jackson (Luke Mitchell); siblings: Randall Buster (Nelda); Carolyn Buster (deceased); Sheila Jackson; Alma Vasquez; Lonnie Jackson, Jr.; Vivian Jackson (deceased); Johnnie Jackson (Nina); nephew: Gerald Allen II; nieces: Natasha Jackson (Maurice); Reba Gibson (Robert); Natalie Beaudoin (Sean); Bianca Smith; Kimberley Vasquez; grandnephews Maurice Jr. “MJ” and Noah; grandnieces Vanessa and Grace and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018. Viewing will begin at 9:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Drive, Harlingen, TX 78550. Burial will be at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 26170 State Highway 345, San Benito, TX 78586.
