Donald Arthur Hartman

Donald (Don) Arthur Hartman, loving husband, father, grandfather, and treasured friend, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was a resident of Fun N Sun RV Resort in San Benito. Don was born to Arthur Hartman and Violet Thompson Hartman on June 7, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Donald is survived by his wife, Jonay E. Hartman; their children, Sue Hoen (Al), Marge Cogswell, Jeanette Weirich (Dick), Patrick Hartman, Kathleen Jensen (Jack), Katherine Burkett (Bob), Darlene Vowell (Denys), Denise Fouts (Rick), Terrance Hartman (Theresa), Jody Tabor (Patrick); brothers, Dick Hartman and Bob Hartman. Don and Jonay were blessed with forty grandchildren. Also left to treasure his memories are his longtime friends whom he met every day for a cup of coffee at Dairy Queen.
He was preceded in death by his sons Bernard and Michael; daughter-in-law, Kate, son-in-law, Lee; parents, Arthur and Violet Hartman; and sister, Mary.
Don’s family thanks the caring medical professionals at Harlingen Medical Center for their kindness, care, and compassion during Don’s hospital stay.
Friends of Don and Jonay gathered at San Benito Funeral Home on Friday, December 15, 2017 to celebrate Don’s life and friendship, and to share a cup of coffee.
