Harlingen:
Dolores (Dolly) T. Schoeppner Taylor, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008 in Harlingen.
Dolly was a former owner, with her husband Jim, of a local new car dealership in Harlingen. Dolly was a spirited and giving person. She loved traveling with her husband around the country in their motor home visiting family and friends. She along with her husband, also enjoyed being members of the Harlingen Dance Club and local Boat Club. She not only donated much of her time as a Volunteer at Valley Baptist Medical Center, but also was always eager to help any friend in need.
Dolly is survived by sons, Gregory, Kirk and Richard Taylor; grandchildren, Ben, Kyle, Amanda, Brian, Douglas, Chris, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman J. Schoeppner, Blanche Commeth Schoeppner; step-mother, Betty Hast Schoeppner; husband, James F. Taylor; and grandson, Collin Taylor.
Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 with the Rev. Judy Sessions officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials may be made to the Humane Society or the Salvation Army.
Dolly will be most remembered as a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother, and she will be deeply missed.
